The season begins with one of the most prestigious trail running events in the world: the Marathon du Mont-Blanc. With multiple race distances - including the demanding 80km event - it attracts elite athletes and passionate runners from across the globe.
Courses wind through alpine trails, steep climbs and breathtaking viewpoints, all starting from the heart of Chamonix. Even as a spectator the energy in town is infectious, with crowds lining the streets and celebrating every finisher.
The Arc'teryx Alpine Academy returns for its 15th edition, offering a unique opportunity to learn directly from world-class mountaineers, climbers and guides.

One of the most meaningful events of the summer is the Fête des Guides de Chamonix, which takes place around the valley in mid-August.
This year will mark the 102nd edition of the celebration, honouring the long-standing traditions of the Compagnie des Guides de Chamonix. It’s a deeply rooted cultural event that reflects the valley’s mountaineering heritage.
Events include; religious ceremonies, parades, the induction of new mountain guides and celebrations of alpine culture. Raising funds for the mountain guides’ relief fund (supporting guides and their families).

No summer in Chamonix would feel complete without Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc known as UTMB.
Held in the final week of August this world famous race covers around 170km through France Italy and Switzerland before returning to Chamonix.
The atmosphere is what makes it special. The town fills with spectators and runners are cheered through the streets at all hours. Even if you are just watching it is a powerful way to experience the spirit of the mountains.
